Crazy'5' and Mystic Peaks

Hi Friends,
I am Venkata Thippanna Rao i.e.., Venkat in short ,one among the five who trekked the "Nishani Mottae", group of peaks on 08/07/06. The Date seems to be a bit Unique and so is our trekking experience.
And, this Blog is all about the experience of '5' of Us, Venkat, Lokesh, Anil,Ravi and Vikas. Why the title "Crazy 5",what is that we are crazy about! are the Questions to be answered. I would like to answer these questions as I describe our journey through the very dense, heavy raining, fog covered hills............................

Before that let me introduce the characters of the Trekking adventure.

Firstly Ravi Kiran- here on referred as "Ravi and the Magic Wand"

Secondly 'Me'-Here on referred as "Venki and his Knife"

Here is my knife throwing challenge to the Leeches over the Hills

Thirdly "Lokesh"- Here referred as "Loki and the Socksless Warrior" :)

what is he doing Oh god he got no Socks and the leeches got direct access to his Skin.......So he is a warrior.................

Fourthly "Vikas"- Here on referred as "Vicky and the Bone Bitting Cold"

And the Unique "Anil" Here on referred as "Anil and the Smooching Leech"

To Start to figure out the crazyness, it was in the morning at about 10:30 we actually got the location of the starting of the trekking point after some effort to know that because it is not so famous trekking point this means not many people have gone there before. And there comes the springing surprise on enquiry

The tourist guy said that it is very dangerous to climb the hills at this point of the year, because as this is the rainy season the land will be very slippery (too dangerous as there are some steep things to climb) and the place will be abundant with leeches( in quest of ur blood). And even mentioned the chance of guide accompanying us are very remote. But, Thank GOD he gave us the information of the trekking point and warned us. This is point 1 to be noted..........................

Here none of the five questioned to turn back as it is told to be dangerous but, all of us are looking forward for a good experience.................................................................................point 1 of Craziness

So here starts our journey in our tour bus to starting point for trekking .... This pic is towards the hill....

Then enqiuiry number 2 at the start of trekking point to confirm is it the place to start and same voice in warning tone came yet again from those at the school, how ever they gave information that there is a person named Ramesh working just about 1 km up the hill.........

These two are the photographs at the first stop during our journey....we r jumping while the photograph is taken to get away from leeches there.....as we already saw some leeches on the way

Here on the actual thing started the leeches and leeches and the leeches are like attacking us as we goooooo ....... sticking up on to out feet and the pants.... and are in quest of the skin to bite and suck the blood.....

Then the woes of the actual warrior of our batch Loku started... because he wore no sockses... so he is the "socksless warrior".... the leech gave him a smooch... as below

The forest is very dense and hilly.. with bushes and the bushes are the guest houses of our enemy Leechessssss.... Have a glance at the dense forest....

Look at that arch like thing I think it is a Pipe...................not a snakeeeee :)

Then Some body starting shouting for help and Anil is that shouting "Rae venkat come here".....

I weant and saw one leech a very nig one believe me about to enter his left shoe..... I tried to remove it but it entered into socks with its half body outside the socks, So I got to use my hand instead of knife. I took off half of it. I got a doubt that there is one more inside his socks.. As I saw rightly there is one big one about to smooch or bite.. So he got one bite already into his account.. SO, "Anil and the Smooching Leech",he is called so ahead of Lokesh because he got socks and even then the Leeches love to kiss himmm at any Cost:)

As told earlier by the people at the starting point we encountered the first Homosapein :) on the hills Mr. Ramesh .. He suggested us to go up and follow the golden rule of left , i.e.., take left if U got a doubt and he talked as if he is interested in guiding us and he too warned about the leeches and the danager in getting across the slippery surface......

But interestingly none of us asked him to guide us just everyone started to ask the path and how long it takes to reach the Zenith of peaks... Point 2 for crazyness

Here too we are a bit crazy in not seeking the help of a guide and started to move on.

Here is the important point that person asked us to do a 10 minute journey to reach his house on the hill which is on the way........ And we reached a house and he gave the main source for our survival "The magic Wand"--- nothing but a stick with salt at the tip covered by a small peace of cloth. And our Harry Potter Ravi wrested it, so comes "Ravi and the Magic Wand".

Now we are equipped with Knife and the magic wand. I Got the Knife and ravi the magic wand/stick ... and so I am called the "Venki and his Knife".....

Ramesh told that a old house will come with no people in there and 5 minutes from there we reach the top of the Hill............

We reached the house and there we started checking for leeches .. as below

And the way from there is very very very dense and like bushes of our height and it is very steep, so the probability of leeches to attack our foot is equal to the probability of them attacking our upper bodies and the head toooo. So we packed our self completely and I lead the way to climb... we were very tired and we could not stop as the leeches may attack us... So keep on moving and when it is just a furlong to reach the top most point..........

I just relaxed and the people started checking for leeches..........

I just helped them to get rid of them with my knife and ravi tooo helped a lot with his wand......

They moved on , me and vikas were there .. then I observed the most terrific thing that I found three of the leeches in my right shoe and two about to enter into my left shoe and one on my left hand , the other on my right hand and one on my chesttttttt... Baapraeee..Kallassssss

I was totally purplexed and started shouting Ravi Ravi! For help because i Cant remove them as the leeches are about to kiss me and interestingly vicky too got some on his legs so he too added to my voice .. thus shouting "Ravi"..............

Ravi came and helped both of us and he told us that he fell as he is hurrying towards us and for god sake he fell in the path, may it be a bit side ravi might have rolled down to death.. because it was very very steep..............................

Still now that scene is right in my mind stamped like a big step on it when ever I think of it...........

Now at the top of the hill it is raining Heavily and fog everywhere and We could see the edge of the hill but nothing else other than the path...........

There r no enough words to express the beauty of the nature that We encountered there at the TOpmost peak of "Nishanne Mottae"... Then we danced a bit and we enjoyed a lot..........

Then Vicky dada started saying that he is feeling too cold down there and started to shiver so the name "Vicky and the Bone Bitting Cold"........................ On the top of the hill.. We are totally drenched and every part of our body is wet :) .......... do think the other way around

Then Anil asked us to join him to sing a age old telugu song " Lahiri lahiri lahirilo oho jagamae ugenugaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......................" we shouted, jumped and enjoyed the beauty like anythinggg... Here we came across a kannada speaking person coming from our destination part.......... I Talked to him in Buttler kannade :) + telugu + english to get some information like 2 more hours that we can reach the roaddddddd........................Thar Roaddddddddd

It was a huge relief after the incident of Leeches every where on me... as we are right in the lap of the beautiful natureeeeeeeeeeee........... :)

There after, We enountered only a few leeches, it is because of the rocky surface with less density of bushes on the way compared to the way we traced before... More interestingly then

started the actual enjoyment .. with... in a moment ..............

We were getting down the hill and interestingly got to go over another peak like wise 4 peaks so 4 ups and 4 downsssss altogether event then none of us didnot doubt our wisdom of trekking at this odd time of the year.... this is point 3 of our crazinesss.

Then we were at a house on the right and one on the left but a bit down,, three dogs came from one of the house started barking at us and are in a mood of attacking us...

It is not about boosting myself as I hold a long stick and a knife in my hand, I just moved forward to scare them and are frigntened it seems, as I looked like a Al-Queda terrorist in that cap and getup as my co-trekkers say.......

This was proved that I look so(Al Queda), when I went to talk to the people in the house a little bit down, the person didnot come forward to talk to me looking at my knife , stick and my attire... Then he came out after some time to help us in figuring out the way, as there are three routes from there onnnnnn.................

We relaxed there for some time and had our lunch at the time was around 2:45 pm..........

And this is the place where we had our lunch in the Pic its me and anil...............

Then some interesting joke involving Anil, Dogs and.... ask any of Crazy 5 for details.............

By the way we came across some water streams on the way and some water falls , excellent places and very frightening as the forest is very very very dense out there... look at some of the picsssssssssssssss....................

We went a little forward and once again we reached a very good tiny water falls there and here are some of those beautiful picssssss.

We came across some snailss, trees with very long roots visible as the path is laid across.......

We reached the ground of sure, But our goal is not reached until we get on to the Thar Roadddd (I mean Pakka Road)......here is the way

Hurray! "Yuppy"!!! in Ramki (our fren Rama Krishnna Grandhi in our College IIITB) language! We are just about to reach the Thar Roadddddddddd.....................

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Hurrayyyyyyyyy Yeppyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! We reached our Pakka Road the Road towards "Madikeri" where we resided during our three day stay of tour...................

Oh r u thinking what r these stats these are the successful leech bite over many attempts they made over us....

It can be observed that Ravi got 0 bites, may be because the Leeches know that he got the magic wand, then I too got a knife even then they bit me once... what is the reason............

Try Ur guess work, I got one may be the "Leeches doubted Ravis blood for some Virus" :) :) such that if they taste they may loose their immunity!!!!!!!!

The Above thing is narrated by me but how ever the names I mean the Socksless warrior and so on are proposed by the Crazy 5555555555 sorry 'Crazy5'............................

Take the risk to gain the return as in accounts it says "Maximum Risk Maximum Return " Applies here toooooooooooooooooooooo. Had it been that we turned back when we were warned by the people in our first two enquires and there on We would have missed this thrilling Xperience.
